Like volume 4, is a compilation of a remarkable variety of interviews of Guruji. The interview format means there is immediacy and shared intimacy with the reader who can feel the experience of being a witness to the dialogue between the interviewer and Guruji. Some interviews bring out the meaning of the subject of yoga on different levels. Guruji always turns the occasion to always give us a clear and lucid account of the path. His answers are never personal but universally applicable.

Patanjala Yoga Sutra Paricaya

This is a birthday gift by Guruji Yogacharya BKS Iyengar for yoga sadhakas. This book in English is the first of Guruji’s book to be published by the Government of India.

The book, as the title conveys, is an introduction (paricaya means introduction) to the yoga sutras and is dedicated by Guruji to the children of India. Yogashastra Tome 2

This is the second book in the series corresponding to the syllabus for students at the Prathamic level. The book is divided into six parts. The first two parts deal with the theory behind the different aspects of Ashtanga yoga, the third explains human anatomy while the fourth and fifth parts provide the methodology for performing various asanas. The sixth and the final part serves as a workbook which aids the children in evaluating the children in evaluating their own understanding. Although the book is written for children, it also provides guidance to parents and teachers on how yoga should be taught to children.

Yoga Shastra Tome 3

The Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute and the Light on Yoga Research Trust have devised a special course on yoga for children and teenagers between the ages of 9 to 18 years. Each book addresses the various stresses and concerns that the children face in their growing years. This volume is the third in the series. It is a practical guide addressing elements of philosophy, science, history and practice. Although the book is written for children, it provides guidance to the parents and teachers too. 136 pages.

Yoga Shastra Tome 4

The fourth book in the Yogashastra series, this tome was written for teenagers between the ages of 14 to 16 years. In this age group, one’s intelligence, grasping power and discriminative power can increase to a great extent. The body develops gracefully due to hormonal changes that occur. At this age, one’s yoga practice and understanding of the science of yoga has to develop accordingly. The aim of this book is to increase the power of the mind (manas) and intelligence (buddhi) with the practice of yoga. While written for teenagers, adults and teachers will also benefit from the material in this practical guide. 184 pages.

Yoga Shastra Tome 5

This is the final book in the series Yogashastra and is meant as a text for the children appearing for the final level, the praman patra examination.
